A DIVERSE TEAM of dedicated doctors, dentists, medical students, administrators, and volunteers at Oasis Free Clinics are breaking down barriers to healthcare by ensuring access to quality essential services.

Expanding Access to Essential Health Services

A nonprofit providing no-cost medical care and dental services to uninsured adults faced a critical challenge: its building owner planned property changes that would displace the clinic.

It was a shocking setback for Oasis Free Clinics—until a Genesis loan ensured Oasis could buy a property in Brunswick, and federal funding became available for renovations to create treatment rooms and administrative offices. The finished project will also offer patients convenient access to public transportation and, when it opens, a food pantry.

Operating at its new, larger site will allow Oasis to expand medical, dental, vision, and mental health services as it strives to meet patients’ healthcare needs in one welcoming, free clinic. Larger space also will allow Oasis to hire additional staff and engage more volunteer providers and dental students.

“By helping Oasis purchase and expand our clinic to bring more patients free medical and dental care, Genesis has made a critical investment in meeting an essential need of our community.”
