For Unique Projects

Flexibility is Key

Pat Dearborn and Jon Miller work separately, but with a shared sense of purpose. Both transform distressed Maine properties into quality rental homes for people with moderate and lower incomes.

For their unique, smaller-scale projects, flexible Genesis loans make sense.

“It would not have been possible to rehabilitate these historic buildings in Augusta without support from Genesis. We’ve brought impressive, once-thriving buildings back to life, after they were empty for decades!”
—JON MILLER, developer

Pat leads her small construction crew to rural places such as Dexter and Kenduskeag, keeping construction costs manageable to be able to prioritize renters with Housing Choice vouchers, including veterans and people with disabilities.

Jon’s territory has been Augusta. He relied on Maine's historic rehabilitation tax credit to enable his budgets for revitalizing Water Street apartment housing.

Pat and Jon are dedicated to creating affordable housing. Their resourceful projects demonstrate the wide range of solutions that can make safe and affordable homes within reach for all.

“My partnership with Genesis has proven itself several times over.... Genesis understands the developer’s challenges, and the need for loan rates that make rental housing affordable and sustainable.”
