Affordable in Biddeford
Rooted in Community
Adilah Muhammad and Chris Aceto have prioritized affordability and safety during their two decades managing a portfolio of multifamily rentals.
Beyond real estate, Adilah is the founding executive director of The Third Place, a collaborative space for entrepreneurs of African descent, and serves on multiple boards. Chris has contributed to community development through his service to various groups and is managing partner for their real estate investment company.
Their real estate journey in Maine began in Lewiston, where fundraising for a community mosque led them to invest in residential property, improving safety and keeping rents low to reduce turnover and foster a neighborly tenant base.
As ASM Properties, Adilah and Chris next invested in Portland and, recently, Biddeford, where a Genesis loan helped them purchase a seven-unit property offering comfortable living spaces within walking distance to downtown amenities—and with affordable rent.
“The Genesis Fund’s flexible loan structure helps us grow our commitment to providing safety and affordability for renters, while ensuring profitability for reinvestment.”
